Sveza is the first in Russia to certify plywood for export to Morocco

The Moroccan Institute of Standardization (IMANOR) issued the Certificate of Conformity for plywood to Sveza’s mill in Kostroma after a rigorous audit of the mill’s quality management system. Experts assessed the testing laboratory and all stages of production from the incoming quality control of raw materials to the packaging of finished products.

“Preparing for the audit took a significant amount of time. We had to study Morocco’s certification standards and regulations introduced in 2024, develop additional documentation in two languages, and conduct a thorough analysis of our existing procedures. The auditors noted the high level of our quality management system, our staff’s attention to detail, and the practices we implement,” says Viktor Tikhonov, manager of Sveza’s plywood mill in Kostroma. 

The Certificate of Conformity applies to raw and film-faced WBP plywood. Now, Sveza is the first and only manufacturing company in Russia to obtain this certification.

“Our products are already being used in Morocco, for example, in construction as formwork. Thanks to this certification, we are able to expand our export capabilities and offer high-quality products for other segments of the Moroccan market, such as furniture and interior design. Moreover, with the upcoming AFCON 2025 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, plywood has already become a much sought-after material for the construction of various infrastructure facilities, including football stadiums,” says Alexey Lyapunov, Sveza’s head of sales in Africa.
